One of the first options for screens is model type. This depends solely on the application so the application will determine what model of screen is needed. JVI can recommend the best type of screen options for your application.

Type of Motion
Linear Motion Screen - JVI's linear screeners are designed for applications requiring maximum screening efficiencies. Mounted horizontally and driven by two counter rotating JVI electromechanical unbalanced motors, the resulting linear stroke facilitates particle stratification and optimum particle size separation. Motors can be mounted on the top, bottom or side of the screener. Linear motion screens require the least amount of headroom when installed with near horizontal decks. Typical applications for linear motion screens are classifying, dewatering, grizzly and control screen applications.
Circular Motion Screen - JVI's circular or elliptical screeners are used in scalping applications to remove tramp or oversized product from the process. This design has the screener mounted on a 15 degree decline and incorporates a single JVI electromechanical motor that produces the circular stroke.

Screen Deck Mesh Size and Material
Depending
on the application requirements a type of screen deck and mesh size will need
to be selected. JVI will recommend the most efficient arrangement for your
application. Here are few examples of the many possibilities:
Plastic Flip Flop
mesh is pliable and works excellent for recycling applications,
the flapping effect of this screen prevents material
from getting stuck.
Fine Wire mesh
is the choice for classification of small particles such as sand and small
gravel, minerals, or grains.
Coarse Wire mesh is used for separating any type of solid, large sized material.

Perforated Steel Plate mesh is an option
as well as Polyurethane mesh.
Drive Type and Position
Exciter - for heavy duty applications such as mining are usually installed across the top of the machine.
Electromechanical - for light to medium duty screening or circular motion screens can be arranged with one or two drives above or below the machine.
Accessories that can be added to a JVI screen include dust tight covers, extra inspection openings, and inlet and outlet sleeves for dust control.
