There are a variety of standard options that need to be specified for a custom
vibratory feeder design. Most options are determined by the application.
The main option choice
is the feeder model; most applications will be best suited by a particular
model.
Feeder Models
UPF - the JVI UPF pan feeder model is well suited for medium to heavy duty horizontal feeding applications and most material types.
UTF
- the
JVI UTF tube feeder model is well suited for light to medium duty long distance
feeding applications and most fine, friable and light material types.
Sizes
- you won't find Specifications and Dimensions on
this web site. Every piece of equipment is eningeered to order for the application.
Integrated
Chutework
Low maintenance,
accurate control, world-class drive mechanisms and state-of-the-art designs
are inherent with each JVI feeder. Additionally, utilizing the JVI exclusive
integrated feeder / chutework package shown takes the guesswork out of design
and support considerations. This single package simply bolts up to the hopper
outlet flange - eliminating the need for cumbersome cable supports while reducing
installation costs.
Benefits:
Integrated chutework options are available for both electromechanical and electromagnetic vibratory feeders. View the Photo Gallery to see the various styles available.
Support
Options
For small to medium vibratory feeders, depending on the application and installation requirements, there are 4 basic methods to mount vibratory feeders properly via rubber buffers or coils.
a) Foot or base
mounting:
In this arrangement the machine is mounted from the bottom on rubber buffers
or coil springs. The feeder is typically supported on an existing base structure.
The springs or buffers isolate vibration from the supporting structure.

b) Foot or base support at feed end,
suspended support at discharge end:
Bin discharge feeders are typically foot mounted at the feed end. At the discharge
end the feeder is usually suspended from the hopper. This frees space below
the feeder for other equipment.
c) Suspended
mount:
If the floor below the machine must be clear or to install the feeder from
a ceiling it is recommended to install the machine by 4 cable supports. In
order to avoid ‘swinging’ of the machine, the cables are installed
with an angle of 5º in each direction, as shown in figure c).
d) Integrated
Chutework:
A unique mounting option for bin discharge feeders is JVI’s integrated
chutework package. The feeder is integrated to chutework via a special, sturdy
support design and bolts directly to the hopper outlet flange.

Material of Construction Options
Carbon
Steel is the standard material of construction for JVI feeder equipment.
Stainless Steel for sanitary requirements in food, chemical
and pharmaceutical processing is availble on request for almost all JVI equipment.
